Astrology educator and consultant inspired by western and eastern traditions
Shu Yap
Astrologer, Writer & Teacher with a passion for Hellenistic, Persian and Arabic traditions
Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here.
I offer astrology consultations for individuals and businesses through birth chart analysis, forecasting, elections and horary services. I’m a teacher and speaker on astrological topics and available for media interviews, teaching engagements, course design and student mentoring. As a faculty member of Kepler College, a leading astrological institution, I offer regular courses on intermediate level astrology as part of their curriculum. The best way to get a feel for my style is to subscribe to my weekly Interpsycle Observator, where you’ll hear practical and philosophical interpretations of the upcoming week’s transits.
Here’s a little bit more about me…
I’ve been a dedicated student of western astrology for nearly 25 years and have trained at the Melbourne School of Astrology (Foundational Modern Psychological) and School of Traditional Astrology (Horary & Medical Astrology). I’m inspired by all the cosmological perspectives around the world, although much of my practice has been focused on the Western Hermetic philosophy, mainly due to geographical circumstances.
I find continual fulfilment in incorporating practices from my Daoist roots and the Vedic philosophy too, especially for astrological remediations. My life as a grower, regenerative land custodian, mother of three and off-grid homesteader sees my astrological practice as a lifestyle, not just a livelihood.
I hope to meet you one day, either in my consultation space, my classrooms, a workshop, webinar or podcast interview!

This conference is FREE to attend and will be held on the 14th & 15th December 2024, 10am - 5pm, Central European Time. As part of this conference, I'll be presenting my ideas and practices on the technique of Profections by Degrees. Scroll down for lecture description...
Degree-Based Profections
The use of Profections has been widely adopted in modern times, even tinkering on the edges of the ‘pop astrology’ scene. Its simplicity and resonance in yearly predictions make Annual Profections a popular choice for many. Aside from the ‘house-equals-one-year’ methodology, Annual Profections has many varied approaches that can provide greater details for predictions. In this talk, we are going to explore Degree-Based Profections, which follows the chart by a yearly rate of movement through the 30 degrees allocated for that year. This is a fascinating extension to the more common Sign-based Profections technique, and can be really helpful to resolve issues like intercepted houses and house systems.

Interpsycle Observator – Weekly Planetary News
Interpsycle Observator: 21 October – 27 October 2024
Last week, Mercury squared Pluto in Capricorn for the last time and entered Scorpio shortly after. This week, it’s the Sun’s turn to bid farewell to this version of Pluto (23 Oct). This could potentially bring to light important topics and issues that have been seething away in the background. Perhaps you could have been introduced to this last week when Mercury led into the Pluto square and Scorpio zone. But as the Sun traverses this region this week, there’s no denying the obvious details of the matter. Long standing issues that have been unresolved, possibly containing a degree to toxicity are things to be on the lookout for. It may hit you deeply into your shadow traits as you also encounter the shadows of others. Issues of power, control, ego and the fight for one’s individual agency may be prominent themes.
