Last week it was Mercury who made the first conjunction with Pluto since forever (well, around 250 years anyway). This week, both Mars and Venus will have their turns. It’s an incredible thought that these planets are meeting Pluto for the first time in Aquarius since such a long time. It shows a strong sentiment of the collective moving into new territory and encountering a new lifeform / entity / or generally, new scenarios that will be the flavour for the next 20 years.

Remembering back to the last time Pluto went into Aquarius, the world’s new territory at the time was the Industrial Revolution, the landing of the First Fleet in Australia, the American and French Revolutions. At that time, these events were trailblazing and disruptive to everyday life, which we’ve come to accept as our normal ways of life these days. While you may not know it yet, you are now turning the wheel of a new epochal change and there’s no going back. Some people are connecting the recent Pluto into Aquarius phenomena with the US Defence Department’s release  regarding “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” which contain reported incidents going back to 2004. However, the majority of incidents have been reported in the last two years which strongly aligns with the shifts in our cosmology, such as the new Saturn Jupiter conjunction which you can read about in my 2020 article “Jupiter Saturn Conjunction: A New Kingdom Unfolds”

The weirdness and revolutionary aspects of this new epoch is characterised by the sign of Aquarius. It’s known for its non-conforming, peculiar and eccentric style which revels in rebellion and disruption, motivated by the need for collective freedom. This is shaping up to be one of those weeks where perhaps strangeness and disruption of the new times might be activated especially with the pile up of planets congregating here. This week Mars (13 Feb) and Venus (16 Feb) both enter Aquarius, joining Mercury who entered last week. Meanwhile Mercury will be heading into the beams of the Sun, making a Morning Set (16 Feb), which could make you feel a bit mentally exhausted. (I’ll add more to this next week when Mercury enters Pisces).

We have a strong and potentially damaging Mars Pluto conjunction (14 Feb) on Valentines Day which might see soft romantic exchanges that you might expect being replaced with confrontations, conflict and defiance, both personally and in the collective. Some extremely violent attacks, bloodshed and the activation of extreme, brutal forces have been seen under Mars Pluto encounters. This is a week to practise self control, rather than trying to control others. Observe the reactions of others but withhold your responses if you can. Use the strong and extreme forces to build your psychic armour so you can deflect any potential attacks. Find a way to expend this energy.

A few days later, Venus will conjunct Pluto (17 Feb) for the first time too, suggesting a time where these potential conflicts could really start to hit the core of your soul, perhaps feeling the bruise of your self esteem and your heart space. As you may have read from last week, Venus has just left the bendings of the nodes meaning that this is a time where you might find yourself at a crossroads around the relating principle where your values, personal sentiments and intimacy needs become top of mind. These two aspects alone tell the story of revolutionary relationships change that’s coming. It will require some deep truth telling and a confrontation with your personal shadows – a necessary catharsis of sorts, which by the way, stems from the Greek word ‘katharos’ and ‘kathairein’ which means to purify and cleanse. So if the pressures of this intense week has you feeling in the dumps, ask yourself what can be purified and cleansed from your life as a result of this cathartic week.

Mercury’s square to Uranus (17 Feb) adds to the disruptive, agitated and rebellious mindset of the week and holding this all together is the nearby Moon’s First Quarter Square in Taurus (16 Feb) confirming that it’s time to build some structure to support the changing times ahead.

The only soft aspect happening this week is Venus’ sextile with Neptune (13 Feb) which might temporarily leave you with the illusion that all is fine and dandy. But while dreams and illusions have a role in our psyche, this week might be trumped by more powerful forces. Perhaps a creative or artistic outlet where all your brute force can be applied to might be good medicine for the week. The Moon’s conjunction with Jupiter (15 Feb) will also do a lot to protect us, at least emotionally. It will help us to keep faith and soldier on. In fact, there’s never been a better time to enact that ubiquitous wartime slogan, “keep calm and carry on”, made famous by George Orwell’s novel, 1984.
