Transit dates
  • 25 Jul   First Quarter Moon in Scorpio
  • 27 Jul   Mercury conjunct Venus
  • 28 Jul   Mercury enters Virgo

All dates are stated in Universal Time (UT 0:00hrs). Please adjust for your timezone.

The main aspect this week is a conjunction with Mercury and Venus (27 Jul) which is usually a playful and creative combination. However, given the current state of the skies, Venus is not up for playing right now. Your mind could be pre-occupied with heavier topics which could prevent you from the light hearted nature of this conjunction. As Venus is currently in reviewing mode, this could be a week where you might reminisce about the good times you’ve shared with others which might seem a distant world away.

Nevertheless, Mercury Venus contacts have much creative potential. It might be helpful to process any emotional upsurge creatively through art, music, dance, writings, gardening, nature work, food & culinary means or other forms of creative release. Many great songs have been written about relationship breakups and love-gone-wrong situations and this Mercury-VenusRx conjunction might be a good outlet for your emotional releases to create that big hit for you, if this is what your skills dictate. The First Quarter Moon in Scorpio (25 Jul) will certainly get you fueled up to take action about your emotional pains. Naturally, a Scorpio Moon will dredge up more difficult and complex feelings to the surface which you might have to deal with. Preferring the solitude of your own space, this Scorpio lunation might cause you to feel like a lone wolf searching for a place to howl out your emotions in the dark of the night.

Given that the Moon passes through the newly ingressed South Node in Libra for the first time since it changed signs this time, this could be an important time of emotional purging to support the current Venus Retrograde process taking place (issue-70). Further, this week is a moment which might be related to the upcoming Solar Eclipse in Libra in October 2023, as the lonely Moon prepares a nest in this region for more inward journeying to come. It will be an important week to start shedding your old skin this week, especially around relationship, financial and creative matters. Recognise that this is a gradual process that’s unfolding right now and every little bit you can let go of will prevent the need for a big dump of baggage at a later date. This lunation also takes place at the more cathartic phase of the Venus Retrograde journey so expect some messy, complex and chaotic emotions to rise into your consciousness, all of which are seeking recognition and a place to belong.

By the end of the week, Mercury changes signs to Virgo (28 Jul), it’s natural home and place of exaltation, suggesting that despite the murky uprisings of your deeper emotions this week, your conscious mind has the resources to process the week’s happenings quite well. Even though it may not have been a playful or lighthearted week as expected, you will be thankful for the important information and learning that you’ve experienced.
