Transit dates
  • 24 Apr   Mercury sextile Mars
  • 25 Apr   Sun sextile Saturn
  • 27 Apr   First Quarter Moon in Leo
  • 29 Apr   Mars sextile Uranus

All dates are stated in Universal Time (UT 0:00hrs). Please adjust for your timezone.

Cast your mind back to the week beginning 3 April when Mercury was moving into a malefic besiegement which could have produced stressful and challenging situations involving the mind, communication, travel, transport or any houses that Mercury rules in your chart. A besiegement, if you remember, creates a situation where we feel trapped into a situation that feels difficult to get out of.

Well, this week opens with a revisiting of that besiegement week as the now Retrograde Mercury will sextile Mars (24 Apr) again. This repeat encounter suggests that you could find yourself following up with issues that emerged during that week with a big re-think. For example, how could you have done things differently? What did you miss that is now coming to your attention? New ideas may be opening up to you now that you’re looking at that week from outside the entrapment zone. Take note of these thoughts as you may need them when Mercury makes its final sextile to Mars on 20 June. The Mercury Mars combination requires us to think quickly on our feet and to turn our thoughts into action. This could go well for you or potentially be a disaster, depending on how these planets behave for you, based on their placement in your natal chart. Either way, you must find ways to channel some hot flames – essentially caused by the winds of Mercury and the flames of Mars – towards a productive outcome until 20 June. The ‘besiegement’ week will provide you with the context of what needs to be channelled.

Since the Solar Eclipse last week, the next aspect for the Sun is a sextile to Saturn (25 Apr). Last week, the Sun’s light was blocked out, and this week its light is further obscured by the constricting forces of Saturn. Your spirits could be a little low this week with all this darkness being created, especially in the Aries and Leo areas of your natal chart. Your creativity could also be affected by the heaviness of Saturn and the eclipsed Sun, so go easy on yourself if you feel a bit uninspired or dull at the moment. It might be more productive to find something a little more pedestrian (but necessary) to do under this transit, like catching up on your chores. The First Quarter Moon in Leo (27 Apr) brings attention to the Leo area of your chart but possibly not in ways that are not particularly enticing. Both these lights are under heavy transits – Sun to Saturn and Moon to Pluto – so there could be feelings of struggle or a strong tension that you may need to navigate through this week. Seeing that we are currently in the eclipse portal, with the additional pressure on the two ‘lights’ (the Sun and Moon) of the cosmos, it’s possible that you’re not able to see the full picture of any situation right now. Rather, your sight might be filtered with a kind of pessimism. Try to avoid making any major decisions right now – at least until after the New Moon next month.

Mars sextiles Uranus (29 Apr) adds an element of surprise into the mix this week. This volatile, disruptive pair could create quite the opening for the next Lunar Eclipse on 5 May because Uranus will be very closely configured to this eclipse. As tensions are high and spirits are low, a combination like this could either invigorate a tired situation or push you closer towards exhaustion. As hard as it could be this week, try to think before you act as your impulses could get the better of you. You may like to remedy this transit with an organised adventure that can get your adrenaline pumping. Circling back to my initial point, it will be important to channel the gusty flames of this week into something powerful. What might that be for you?

Dear Shu, thank you again for your forecast. I will reflect on it! As a Scorpio rising I know the next eclipse is very closed to my Saturn in Scorpio, fingers crossed 😅 Looking forward to your knowledge and insights. Very useful and soothing. Take care!
