The important transit this week is the Mars Saturn trine (29 Nov) which is the second out of three instances of this transit. Mars Saturn trines are known for their productive capacities, even in the midst of hardship and struggle. Even though things could feel tough going like an uphill battle, you may look back at the end of this week and realise how much you’ve actually achieved. It’s a great week to tackle that long list of tasks on your to-do list, especially those that have been occupying a space on that list for a long time. Despite not feeling like you’re getting anywhere, you may surprise yourself when you look back at the end of the week and are able to finally tick off a long and laborious job that’s dragged on for far too long.

The first time Mars and Saturn made their trine in this series was on 28 September. Things that you’re attending to this week could be linked to something that you may have started at the end of September. You may be called to review something that started then, including things such as advancements, a consolidation or an important milestone. The first Mars Saturn trine saw Saturn in its Retrograde condition. This time, Saturn has turned direct and now it’s Mars that’s Retrograde, indicating that you may need to review or re-do what you’ve already started. Despite its productive potential, this transit will certainly feel frustrating and slow-going, but the trine aspect suggests that the outcome will generally be favourable. So, prepare yourself to have extra levels of patience this week.

Tuning into the Mars Saturn trine will be the creative duo of Mercury and Venus, who will be opposing Mars and sextiling Saturn this week. Both Mercury and Venus are in the process of stepping into their full power as they move into their most favourable part of their synodic cycles. This indicates a great creative potential, strong communicative abilities, swift actions and a social flair in managing lots of balls in the air with grace and coherence. The opposition to Mars will be the challenging aspect of Mercury (30 Nov) and Venus (1 Dec) this week and they will be tested in their ability to navigate the conflicts, tensions, self-centredness andn the egotistic qualities of Mars. You would benefit from aligning to the currently fast speeds of Mercury and Venus right now by learning to move on quickly to the next thing, rather than brooding over issues that will cause hold ups. The speed of Venus and Mercury will help you to remain flexible and light hearted in all matters for the sake of social cohesion. Mercury (30 Nov) and Venus’ (2 Dec) sextile to Saturn will also afford them some perseverance, patience and persistence to keep their focus on the long game. Remember, the Mercury Venus show has the potential to create magic right now, so don’t waste this potential on the pettiness of daily conflicts.

In addition, Mercury and Venus will also be activating the strong Neptunian sentiments this week, which has also been a signature of the Mars Retrograde story since October. Mercury (2 Dec) and Venus (4 Dec) will make a square to Neptune, who is Stationing Direct (4 Dec) at the same time. Meanwhile, Venus will also be making her Evening Heliacal Rise (3 Dec). All of this translates to a highly playful, creative and imaginative time if you can play your cards correctly. I think this is a great configuration for those who play in the creative and imaginative spaces in their lifestyle but others who rely on rational, linear and logical thought may struggle with disturbances of their mental faculties. You may feel a greater urge to escape the ‘real world’ especially when things are feeling like a real struggle which is what the Mars Saturn trine can bring. You can use this configuration more productively by planning some time out to indulge in your senses and to give yourself a little break. Otherwise, the pressures of this week could lead to unhealthy escapism and excessive tendencies that can be harmful and disappointing.

If you revisit my Mars Retrograde video, you’ll know that we spoke about Neptune and Saturn being the two ‘signatures’ of the Mars Retrograde period. This is a week where you could see the potential conflict between these two influences play out in your life. On the one hand, there’s a lot of work to get done (Saturn Mars trine), and on the other, a demotivating factor that wants to escape this work (Neptune square Mars). You’ll feel the polarity of these two influences strongly this week and both aspects will be important so it will be a matter of managing spaces for both to occur. If you can, try and pre-plan a couple of hours this week to fill your cup doing something that you love to do, especially if it involves the senses, creativity or the imagination. It may also be a good time to get out into the world and be socially connected again, seeing as Venus will be leaving the long underworld phase. Balancing these personal needs will leave you in good stead to plough through the work ahead of you with much less resentment, tiredness or apathy.

interesting as ever ….. would it be possible to put the times for the aspects in GMT as everyone who does astrology is used to going to and from GMT where ever they live on the world ? It would make it even more useful.
