Interpsycle Observator: Solstice Edition June 2022

The Winter Solstice is upon us if you live in the southern hemisphere and Summer Solstice if you’re in the Northern hemisphere. In both cases, there’s a shifting of tides happening whereby those in the south will start to see more sunlight in its days moving forward, and those in the north will conversely see their nights becoming longer.

Did you know that reading Solstice and Equinox charts (aka ‘Ingress Charts’) can forecast the next three month period? So this week, I’ll be looking at the ingress chart that is occurring this week to provide an overarching summary of the next three month period (until the Equinox chart in Spring/Fall).

At first glance, there’s a lot to like about this ingress chart when the Sun gets to 0 degrees of Cancer. Four out of the seven traditional planets are in their home signs, indicating that there are a lot of resources available to us for the upcoming quarter, especially from the houses (or areas of life) ruled by planets Mars (Aries/Scorpio), Venus (Taurus/Libra), Mercury (Gemini/Virgo) and Saturn (Capricorn/Aquarius). That’s potentially eight areas of life that we may feel particularly comfortable and in control with over the next month, so that’s a lot to look forward to. Having so many planets in domicile can give the feeling of a homecoming, a sense of comfort and predictability, an ability to manage one’s affairs well, accessing familiar supports and resources only available when one is in their own domain.

This ingress chart is held by the energy of the Third Quarter Moon in Pisces, meaning that we will need to undergo a lot of processing of emotions and thoughts this quarter. Though you may feel more  in control, there is still a need to withdraw and turn away from the things that you thought were going to be more permanent. With declining motivation levels, you could find yourself reviewing many issues and challenges around your ability to pursue your initial plans. What we hold on to and what we let go of under this Third Quarter Moon is a question of what holds more meaning and truth for us. The risk of holding onto plans that don’t quite align at this stage is one of self-martyrdom. So in this quarter of intense processing, ask yourself, “Am I truly pursuing this because it fulfills me deeply, or am I being a victim to that which I can’t let go of?

Venus’ trine to Pluto will assist you to journey deeply into what your personal values are. When your desire nature meets harmoniously with the chthonic power of Pluto, you could find yourself getting to the bottom of what it truly means for you to feel valued, loved, secure and powerful. The Venus Pluto trine will assist you to confront issues you may rather avoid but in doing so, may help take your personal relationships to the next level. If you cast your minds back to the Venus Pluto conjunctions of 12 & 25 December 2021 and 4 March 2022 at around 25 degrees Capricorn, this time and space will indicate the specific topic in which you’ll be focusing on this quarter under the Venus Pluto trine. If anything significant occurred around these dates for you, especially pertaining to relationships, power, control, ownership, material desires, assets and finances, expect to see developments around these themes unfold over the next three months.

The Mercury sextile Jupiter aspect of this ingress chart indicates that no matter what this quarter holds, it’s likely to be a great learning experience for you. Jupiter, the planet of knowledge, truth, wisdom and beliefs is in a highly supportive aspect with Mercury, known for its ability to apply theoretical truths into practical reality. When they’re both working together, it can be an inspiring experience where your teachings really drop into your mental perceptions and thoughts, which will ultimately trickle down into your actions. Be conscious of what’s floating around in your mind this quarter because there are many opportunities to animate them into life, but at the same time, you don’t want to waste this on a scattered mind. There’s every potential that big ideas could come to life or your daily praxis becomes much more meaningful to you. New experiences, networks, teachers, mentors, friendships, students, books, findings, research and downloads will all add to this quarter’s learning experiences. This aspect is also a great one for any entrepreneurial activities where courage and momentum can be applied to bringing your truth and ideas to the world.

With Venus and the Moon very late in their signs, Saturn recently turning retrograde and Jupiter close to its retrograde station, this ingress chart indicates that change is imminent. These changes could be challenging, given some of the upcoming aspects of this quarter, especially beginning of August, will be quite intense and volatile. For the next three months, you need to take the good with the bad – there is great potential to thrive in the face of change and instability.

Happy Solstice Blessings to you!
