Quote of the week

“It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.”

things to do this week
  • Use frustrations and tensions as a way to unlock a potentially liberating solution
  • Have patience for what you can’t control, and only tackle that which you can
  • Take note of what’s shining brightly from your Capricorn house (12 degrees) as an important theme gestating for the next nine months
  • Block out your calendar until 6 March to work constructively and productively with the increased energy levels available to you
  • Ramp up your exercise regime or get onto doing the things that you’ve been avoiding that require great effort
  • Be careful to take rests and care for your physical body, watch for potential accidents caused by haste and excitement
  • Look after your nervous-system to ease any mental obsessions or compulsiveness
  • Engage in deep study, observation, reflection or research to transform your understanding

Date: 7 February – 13 February 2022

The First Quarter Moon on 8 Feb will help you bring about some action and structure behind your goals. You may start to feel momentum and see the first signs of success blooming. However, this comes with some possible frustrations as the First Quarter Moon also activates the persistent Saturn Uranus square, raising tensions between long-term stability and personal authenticity. The discord between these two very different needs could feel insurmountable especially when they are activated by the Moon this week who is seeking security and safety. Themes of stubbornness or resistance to change could be a by-product this week. Try to honour this tension as a stepping stone towards a potentially liberating creative solution. If you get fixated on one side of this equation, it could cause you to miss unique possibilities, so challenge yourself to think outside the square and consider the unexpected. With Saturn and Uranus involved, you could feel like things are outside of your control. Have patience for what you can’t control, and only tackle that which you can.

Venus, the ruler of Taurus, will be at her Greatest Morning Brilliance around the time of this First Quarter Moon, indicating possibilities of gaining recognition, visibility or acknowledgement around the house topics where Capricorn resides in your chart. Your Capricorn house will be an important theme for the next nine months as Venus started her cycle and rose out of the beams here. If you have planets or angles around 12 degrees Capricorn, their significations and the houses they rule are likely to get noticed. Use the bright light of Venus this week to illuminate important themes that you’re likely to be gestating. You could even see a small milestone emerging around the topics of your Capricorn house, or feel the impulse to celebrate. While it’s nice to pause and acknowledge where Venus’ bright light is shining on you, it’s best to keep applying effort while Mars is close by.

Mars continues to feature strongly this month, not only because it’s in its exalted sign of Capricorn where the fiery planet can be channeled into its most productive form. Mars also makes a trine to Uranus in Taurus and therefore, activates that First Quarter Moon and Venus’ Greatest Brilliance in a forceful but constructive way. You could be acknowledged for your efforts and actions, even praised for your courage to step into greater authenticity. There could be a sudden burst of energy or a strong application of effort available to you that’s above what you’re usually used to. Take heed though – it’s easy to burn out when Mars is strong and active so look after your physical body.

Mars in Capricorn will bring momentum, courage and the ability to power through the mammoth tasks that will be required to produce the milestones, successes and acknowledgement. While Mars traverses Capricorn between 25 Jan – 6 Mar,  it’s always a good idea to schedule any gruelling jobs for this time, especially those that require a lot of muscle, sweat, energy and grunting. Block out your calendar until 6 March and start working through your to-do list. This also applies to exercise, training, tasks you’ve been putting off and other activities requiring force and stamina. Mars in Capricorn can also help you take decisive action and honour your own will and assertion. It’s time to back yourself and go for gold.

Uranus will help inspire you to take bold steps outside the safety of your usual routines, and it may also give you interesting perspectives or flashes of insights. Again, be careful about the potential for accidents and under this Mars trine Uranus transit, which could be caused by being too busy, hasty, impulsive or excited. And again, look to the Capricorn house for sensitive areas that could flare up while Mars moves through this sign.

One final transit worth mentioning this week, Mercury will make its last of three conjunctions with Pluto on 12 Feb, ending a little journey of deep mental activity that started on 30 December. When Mercury is under the heavy influence of Pluto, you can gain an appreciation for how complex and endless the mind can be. Depending on your mental state, this could be awe-inspiring and mind blowing, or, it could be somewhat cathartic and confusing.

This transit could make you obsess over details of a situation in an attempt to get to the root cause. If you’ve been overthinking, paranoid or obsessed more than usual, the final Mercury and Pluto conjunction this week will hopefully bring some resolutions to any compulsive curiosities that may have been occupying your mind since 30 December. One way to make the most of this transit is to engage in study or research as it will give you the patience and depth to transform your understanding. If you’ve been deeply engaged in a topic of study or research within this time, it’s likely that your knowledge uptake has been fast-tracked or deeply embodied. Make the most of this mentally immersive transit for its powers of observation and persuasion.

Other possible manifestations of the Mercury-Pluto story could be something along the lines of financial planning / literacy (for example, investigating investment opportunities), manipulative mind games, depression and anxiety, exploration of the unknown / occult, deep and meaningful conversations, secrets / gossip or the sinister side of trickery in personal or business affairs. Think of what you were doing on 30 Dec and 29 Jan – these dates would have been significant sign posts for whatever this journey ended up manifesting for you.

Thank-you Belinda. There’s always two sides, altho much easier to see the positive side while Jupiter’s in Pisces! Appreciate your feedback.
