Quote of the week

One should therefore not rely on mere words, but everywhere search for the intention behind them.

The South Node Scorpio Eclipse happens on the first day this week heralding a continuation of a story that commenced 8.5 years ago. Read my last article for the eclipse report, which I delivered earlier last week to help you prepare for this.

Post eclipse, we should see the waves of turbulence start to shake down into our lives, where the aftermath of any intensities can start to be processed and integrated. While things may still feel raw and edgy, you may nevertheless feel a sense of clarity forming now that issues are laid out in front of you. However, you’ll need to wait until the next New Moon in the new sign of Gemini on 30 May, before the eclipse events really start to settle down.

The first aspect after the eclipse will be the Mars Neptune conjunction. Given that the Scorpio eclipse was ruled by Mars, there’s a possibility that you’ll be feeling overwhelmed and disorientated at the other side of it as Mars joins Neptune. A lack of motivation, draining energy levels or foggy plans that could lead to misplaced efforts could all be possibilities when Mars passes through Neptune’s cloud.  It could save you time to remain passive until this Neptunian fog lifts. Try to resist the temptation to initiate actions before you’re clear on what you need to do. Luckily, there’s a Mercury Cazimi at the end of this week to help you gain that clarity (read below for more details).

Neptune will water down the fiery Mars energy which could be a good thing if you’re not into confrontation. However, the rising nature of heat means that Mars’ anger and frustrations could result in irritability, repressed conflict or resentment. Mars’ explosiveness could also be subdued into passive aggressive behaviour, deception or underhanded motives. If you’re in a Mars profection year or have a strong natal chart emphasis in the signs of Aries or Scorpio, chances are you’ll feel all of the above in a meaningful way. You could try turning to free-flowing creative outlets to help expel any repressed tensions.

The Sun’s trine with Pluto the next day reinforces some of the deeper realisations that have surfaced this week. The Sun brings your consciousness to the dark hidden matter of Pluto in a supportive aspect which could help raise your awareness about important issues to do with your life structure, foundations and essential systems. It does this through the offering you an intense super power of mindfulness, where minute details can be magnified and brought to your attention. Events and situations could also give opportunity for your inner strength, resilience and resourcefulness to shine this week, giving you a boost to your confidence. This aspect can provide the courage to help you step into vulnerability as a way of accessing your own personal power. Use this opportunity to trust in your own abilities and transform a fear of showing vulnerability into a brave honouring of your Self. We could all benefit from reviewing Brené Brown’s work on the power of vulnerability this week.

By the end of the week, we will see some positive energetic shifts as Mercury sextiles Jupiter before the new Mercury cycle starts to align through the Sun Mercury conjunction (Mercury Cazimi). This conjunction is the inferior type – meaning that it is the Cazimi that denotes the beginning of a new 135-day Mercury cycle. It’s a potent time for ideas to be fused into our field of consciousness, like a spark of insight that ignites a path forward for the next 4 months. It’s the Albedo phase of the alchemical process – the Whitening – the matter that is purified of the dross of our egos so that we can see the truth for what it is.

Have you got a special intention you wish to animate? Or are you in need of a purpose to pursue? You can use this Mercury Cazimi moment to purify any thoughts or emotions that are hindering your ability to clarify your purpose, or you could pitch your intentions directly to the King (Sun) for his blessings. This is a particularly auspicious Cazimi because it will occur in the home sign of Mercury where it feels most powerful and resourced, and, Mercury’s sextile to Jupiter two days prior will add to the fortuitous outcomes. The sextile to Jupiter is likely to expand your mind and open you up to big ideas and possibilities to pursue for this Mercury cycle.

The strong Gemini / Mercury / Jupiter influence of this Cazimi suggests that education, learning, teaching, mentoring, knowledge transmission and the exchange of ideas could be big themes for this upcoming Mercury cycle. As described in my previous issue, you may have received some hints as to what this next Mercury cycle could bring based on what came up for you during Mercury’s descent into the underworld, that is, during the Evening Elongation and the Station Retrograde point. Reflect on the past two week’s events and notice what strong themes are emerging into the Albedo state, ready for you to animate into being. If you need further clarification, sit with Hermes as he rides in the chariot of the Sun, and ask for clarity and confirmation. Use this as a planning tool for the next four months of your life, in whatever project you wish to pursue, especially if Mercury is your activated timelord this year.

Here are the Mercury Cazimi dates and times for the following cities – please adjust to your local time. These times are auspicious for writing, communication, planning, asking for favours, receiving benefits and blessings, sending important emails, applying for jobs / loans / property, legal matters, meditating, receiving downloads, intention setting and clarifying anything on your mind.
