Lunar Eclipse in Gemini: Mental overload

by | Nov 24, 2020 | Forecast, Planetary | 2 comments

The Lunar Eclipse on the 30th November 2020 will be in the sign of Gemini. Being a super-charged Full Moon, you may feel emotionally heightened with the thoughts and ideas that are being illuminated to you at this time. This eclipse could heighten your sense of anxiety around what you want in your life right now, especially in the area of your natal chart where Gemini resides.

This eclipse chart is all about your mind  – your mental health, ideas, opinions and truths, and everything related to the way you manifest and communicate these themes in your life. There’s an enthusiastic drive towards learning and expanding your field of knowledge in the house where this eclipse falls in your birth chart. No doubt by the end of this eclipse series by end-2021, you will have learnt a lot. Studying each of these eclipse charts will help you navigate through some of the challenges and opportunities you will face during this re-education journey. Here are some of the key features of this Lunar Eclipse in Gemini chart.

Information overload

With the North Node in Gemini, there’s a good chance that you’re gathering all the information you need to make your agenda a reality. But there’s a danger in too much information. Rather than getting closer to your goals, you could be drowning in meaningless data, misinformation and biased perspectives which is adding to your state of confusion and fickleness, and before you know it, you’re back to square one again. Try to be disciplined with the media, information and advice you consume right now. Chances are, the answers you’re looking for are simpler than you think or already within you but your insatiable need for reassurance, explanations and clarifications could be driving you further from the truth you’re seeking.

Mental unrest

This Lunar Eclipse in Gemini brings a strong focus on the mental realm. There could be a constant flow of ideas, thoughts and concepts which is taking up a lot of brain power and little focus is being given to your physical and emotional nourishment. This could be a time where issues related to the nervous system could emerge – anxiety, adrenal fatigue, mental exhaustion for example. Try to schedule in regular practices for grounding your physical body and allow your mental health to take priority during this time.

Limitless mental indulgences

Mercury, the ruler of this eclipse, is situated in the deep waters of Scorpio so in addition to an insatiable consumption of information, data and learning, we may also feel the need to penetrate our curiosities deeper into the unknown. There are so many places for the mind to go – deep mysteries, past trauma, confrontational subjects, yet the symbology of this eclipse chart shows no boundaries. This feels like a car rolling down a big hill with the brakes not working. There’s no way to stop and the destination feels fated. Mercury’s ruler, Mars in Aries who also sextiles the Moon, only adds to the speed and daredevil tendencies. At best, you can trust that the car will lead you to where you need to get to. But a back up plan would be helpful – find ways to bring in structure, boundaries and reinforcements to your mental indulgences, as hard as this seems. Not only could you be sending yourself into a mind spiralling journey, you could also be dragging in those close to you and inciting paranoias, fears and mental angsts within them.

Blind spots and adjustments to your plans

The Moon in Gemini is reflecting the Sun in Sagittarius, which is shining a light on truth, beliefs and faith (or lack of) that you need to confront at this time.  The polarity between these two bodies highlights the discrepancy between one’s own truth and one’s actions in the world. How well are your actions aligned to your truths? Or how far are your truths away from practical reality? With both the ruler of the Moon (Mercury) and the Sun (Jupiter) in aversion to their signs, there’s a sense of there being some blind spots preventing you from seeing both sides of the coin. You may get a sense that there’s not enough information or support available to create changes that align to a more authentic life, which could cause a feeling of fear and panick around these eclipses. With the eclipse rulers in aversion here, chances are that your plans and your beliefs will need adjustments and compromise in order for them to be constructive at this stage.

Confusion paralysis

This turbulance is further accentuated by the square between the Sun and Moon with Neptune, bringing confusion, diorientation and disappointments. At worst, the Neptune energy could manifest as fraud, deception and a lack of transparency around issues that can further add to anxiety levels. In questioning your purpose and searching for your truth, Neptune challenges you to dissolve your regular thoughts and ideologies and consider things that are wildly unimaginable and unified to the collective. Be open-minded, flexible and inclusive in your ideas to make the most of Neptune’s influence but don’t get swept away in its nebulous, shape-shifting form. Despite all good intentions, there’s every chance Neptune’s influence could paralyse you with disorienting confusion, feelings of being let down or an over identification with your victimhood. This stresses the importance of your discipline in grounding practices and information consumption because your mind is easily impressionable at this time. It’s important to remember that your actions and approach to life determines your reality.
