Earlier this month, I had the pleasure to present a lecture on the 2023 Venus Retrograde phase at Ishtarfest, an annual conference organised by pagan group, Hands of Change, a coven dedicated to the Sumerian mysteries.

I’ve given many talks on the Venus cycle as it relates to the Sumerian story of Inanna’s descent into the Underworld but I was particularly excited about this lecture as my intention was to help people use the time magic of the Venus Retrograde phase to design their own ritual, ceremony, life activity or project.

In this video, I explain the astronomical movements of the Venus synodic cycle from the Retrograde Phase to the Direct Phase and what symbolic meaning this could have on your ritual or project design. I also explore the key transit stories that will be activated during this phase, providing important themes that could be experienced during this 42-day journey. Lastly, I outline how your natal chart could be used to personalise this year’s Venus Retrograde journey in a way that strongly resonates with your personal development.
