In this episode, I speak with Mile De Carteret about his exploration of music through the filter of astrology, geometry, numbers and colours. A professional musician and a lover of the quadrivium, Miles shares his research around musical notes and intervals, and the patterns that correlate with the five astrological Ptolemaic aspects and other bridges between sound, frequency and the natural world.
Miles also shares his Wheel of Harmony, a musical teaching tool which he created and designed to help his students easily identify the seven notes of any key with a simple turn of the wheel, as well as incorporating the astrological signs and their corresponding frequency colours.
Shu Yap is an astrologer, writer and teacher of 20 years experience who integrates astrology, alchemy, art, planetary magic and the Hermetic arts to her life practice. Shu teaches astrological topics, is a tutor for Kepler College, consults with clients worldwide and writes weekly astrological news on the Interpsycle Observator.

Miles de Carteret is a multifaceted sound explorer based in Daylesford, Victoria. As a ‘mathe-musician’ with a passion for vibrational medicine, he delves into the interrelations between astrology, music, geometry, and colour. His guitar acts as a bridge to the beyond, a trusted ally that helps him explore new sonic terrain. Having just completed an extensive tour with the Moontide ensemble, where they played at festivals across Australia and New Zealand, Miles returns home feeling invigorated and inspired. His focus is now on creating immersive art that embodies the universal laws found in nature, incorporating sound, colour, and movement to convey these principles. He’s also committed to bringing his unique approach to music education to a wider audience through the Aquarian Music Method. By integrating his deep understanding of astrology, geometry, music and colour into his teaching, Miles aims to offer students a holistic and transformative learning experience that fosters a deeper connection with their instrument and the world around them.
