It’s all happening in the sign of Aquarius this week. The stellium forming in this sign is sure to forge some turbulence in this house of your natal chart, reminding you to check in with your nervous system and anxieties around this area of life.

As soon as Mercury enters Aquarius (5 Feb), it will make a conjunction with Pluto (5 Feb) which can deepen and bend your mind into weird and wonderful places. When Mercury and Pluto join together, it can get you into huge mental rabbit holes where all possible avenues are magnified and analysed. This would be ideal for you if you’re into researching, fault finding, problem solving or in deep study. The obsession of Pluto means it will assist Mercury in leaving no stone unturned. And Mercury’s triplicity lordship over the sign of Aquarius might allow space for the deep inquiry to take place. This is especially true in the technology area as Mercury and the sign of Aquarius can symbolise, but it could be just as strong in topics like ancient histories, geopolitics, societal and humanitarian sciences.

At a bigger picture level, Mercury’s conjunction with Pluto will be the first time the two will be meeting in the sign of Aquarius since about 250 years ago! Imagine two long lost brothers being reunited together after an event, like adoption. As they get to know each other again, there’ll be lots of questions and curiosities, as well as reckoning with painful experiences of loss and separation. As you move through this week, there could be a sense of being reacquainted with something from the past but in a totally new context. There’s possibilities of your mind opening up to new discoveries. You may also find that your mind could be burdened with heavy thoughts as you consider the greater impacts of the changing world, which could bring up fears, paranoias and anxious states.

All of this is happening as the Moon is diminishing her light indicating that there is a need to mentally purge and empty your mind, releasing it of anxious thoughts, outdated concepts, negativity and paranoias that are currently shackling you from true liberation and autonomy. The New Moon in Aquarius (9 Feb) by the end of the week will see Mercury square Jupiter (10 Feb), which might allow you to see new potential opportunities being birthed after you return from the darkness of the Plutonic underworld. Expanded ideas both challenge and inspire you at the same time, which is part of the great shifts currently happening collectively with Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius, symbolising an epochal change where new ideologies will prevail.

Adding weight to the collective shift is the Sun squaring Uranus (8 Feb), the revolutionary planet. This transit will give Aquarius season the stereotypical ‘weird kid’ flavour, where anything goes, no judgement, just honesty. It is both refreshing as it is alarmingly bizarre to see what impulses this could bring up in us and the people around us. A disruption of sorts might help you to broaden your insights, possibly around your life purpose. It may invoke a sense of rebelliousness in you to forge necessary change, whether this be a mundane shift in routine or a broader adjustment of your consciousness.

In the background to all of this is the wallflower Venus, hiding from the buzzing Aquarian spectacle, but nevertheless still causing a stir as Venus squares the Nodes and trines Uranus (7 Feb) on the same day. This could show somewhat of a crossroads or decision to be made around the relating principle where your values, personal sentiments and intimacy needs become top of mind. It can be a good week to level up in the relationship area where the striving for fairer exchange could take place. It’s quite possible that one of the major motivations underpinning the big changes happening collectively is that of balancing relationships and partnerships. It’s also the first time that Venus, ruler of the Libran eclipses, has come into the bendings of the nodes, marking somewhat of an important moment where the events of last October 2023 (or possibly even April 2023) could be reviewed with greater consciousness and objectivity.
