Mercury has broken through the resistance of the malefic enclosure from last week and will be making its Maximum Evening Elongation to the Sun (11 Apr) this week. With this distance from the sun, Mercury may be able to transform the lessons from the past week into new perspectives and insights. This week, Mercury teaches us to step out into unknown territory in order to see an entire situation holistically. Can you think of where you might need to broaden your lens to see a bigger picture and gain a better understanding of a situation? Again, look to the houses ruled by Mercury as well as around 10 degrees of Taurus for clues into what topics might benefit from this perspective.

To assist further, the Sun will conjunct Jupiter (11 Apr) on the same day in what is the beginning of a new 12-month Jupiter Synodic Cycle. This auspicious transit is also called a Jupiter Cazimi where success, abundance, glory, honours, promotion, wisdom and knowledge are said to be associated with this short window of time (approximately 1 day). This Jupiter Cazimi has a strong Mars influence, being in the sign of Aries as well as being under the terms of Mars so there’s certainly a very heated quality connected with this new Jupiter cycle. The Sun and Jupiter are also both fiery planets, so combined with the Mars influence, we could see this Cazimi as a moment containing big sparks of inspiration and enthusiasm for initiating something over the next 12 months that reflects our truth and beliefs. Perhaps a fire ceremony would be an apt way to bring in this new Jupiter cycle, especially for those undergoing a Jupiter timelord. Use fire to calcinate the dregs of the old cycle and burn in your new vision for the next 12 months as the fire element is also related to sight and vision.

Venus enters Gemini (11 Apr) on the same day, and immediately trines Pluto (11 Apr) at its new position at the beginning of Aquarius. In her playful archetype of Gemini, Venus will help you to feel more social, lighthearted and offer engaging conversations to indulge in this month. The trine to Pluto might make such conversations deeper as Venus’ connection into the communicative air space could broach the intense or impermissible topics of Pluto with grace, tact and social acceptance. An opportune day to reconcile repressed ideas and bring them into the world of abstract discourse. Watch for the power of magnetism on this day as both Venus and Pluto have the capacity for subtle and commanding influence, attraction and persuasion. Use their gifts if you require a little extra boost to get you over the line in something you’re working on – maybe a little nudge and wink or a battering of eyelids might be more effective under a Venus Pluto trine. Combined with the fact that the auspicious Jupiter Cazimi will be occurring on the same day, the Venus Pluto trine is one way to tap into this invisible power of manifestation and the gifts of attraction.

By the week’s end, the gifts of the Cazimi and Venusian playfulness could come to quite a rough ending as Venus squares Saturn (14 Apr) which could dampen the mood. If Venus-Pluto is about finding the rare underground jewels, Venus-Saturn is about hitting a big rock that prevents you from accessing the bounty. You could experience some obstructions on this day that could make it less playful and fun, and rather the focus could become more about work or obligation. Saturn in the watery sign of Pisces may force you to act from a place of emotional responsibility which will make the frivolous, social Venus in Gemini reconsider some of its ideas. What you had expected earlier in the week may now be denied – don’t be surprised if plans fall through. If these blockages seem hard to navigate, perhaps consider that these negations could be preventing greater consequences from occurring down the track. And with the first Solar Eclipse in Aries coming next week, it’s quite possible that you could ‘bite off more than you could chew’ through the temptations of the Cazimi and Venus Pluto trine without the restraints being enforced by Saturn later this week. Saturn’s square to Venus could make you feel less social and in need for more alone time. Either that or the experience of coldness and aloofness experienced from those around you may be heavy on the heartstrings, so try not to take things too personally.
