Last week, Mercury made its Evening Heliacal Rise which helped us to bring more wisdom, intention and meaning to our everyday life activities. This week, as Mercury heads into a conjunction with the expansive Jupiter (28 Mar) it opens up a five week period in which the planet of the mind and communication will be in its powerful Evening Phase. Watch for moments of connection, revelation or the coming together of big ideas that can help you align to your new intentions with greater maturity over the next five weeks. Backed by the First Quarter Moon in Cancer (29 Mar), there will be a lot of subtle action driving the cosmic wheel this week.
This phase of Mercury has a strong signature of learning by transmission, either by being the role model for what you preach or perhaps by direct teaching. The act of passing on your knowledge is also one of true learning. Your ability to teach effectively requires you to know the material acutely. This exchange of wisdom is mutually beneficial to both student and teacher. Just like the telling of stories from the elders to the younger generation, it’s as much about the preservation of the elder’s lineage as it is the building of capacity within the young individual. Whether it’s something technical, academic or informal, knowledge transmission has an important place this week as we open to the next five weeks of Mercury Evening Star. Tune into your own wisdom offerings this week and find your way to share this with those who may join you in preserving an idea with you. Consider a five week project, task or intention that can encourage the learner and teacher within you.
Finally out of Gemini, Mars heads straight into a trine with Saturn (31 Mar) between the water signs of Cancer and Pisces, where it can feel more productive with its energy. The move of Mars into a Cardinal sign could show more direct actions and decisions being made, compared to the previous six months of Mutable indecisions, fluctuations and scatteredness of Gemini. With Saturn offering discipline, stability and a good dose of reality check, Mars is able to be more constructive this week, despite its crabbiness and defensiveness. If you can overlook the mood swings and touchiness and keep your eye on the task, you’re likely to work through your task list quite effectively. With Mars in Cancer, there’s also a strong sense of protectionism and patriotism so you may come across these situations during your week. Just remember that moods wash away as quickly as the next wave rises, so try not to dwell in anger or resentment over these crashing tides.
Venus conjunct Uranus (31 Mar) on the same day shows that anything goes, really. Pleasant surprises are always a great Venus Uranus experience, especially when Venus is strongly located in her own domicile of Taurus. Nevermind the disruptions and inconveniences, there’s an underlying benefit that can be gained by embracing the spontaneity and eccentricity of Uranus. Perhaps you may feel called to try something new or different this week. Simple things like trying a different meal at a restaurant or taking a new route to work; to things of greater significance like an unexpected big purchase or new investment, Venus Uranus is all about experimentation and breaking habitual patterns in finances, indulgences, creative pursuits, relationships, sexual desire and social activities. It’s definitely a boredom-buster. As this transit is happening on the same day as the constructive Mars Saturn trine, it could suggest that the productivity gains could come about by employing the innovative and non-conventional ways of the Venus Uranus conjunction. The houses of Cancer, Taurus and Pisces will be areas subject to this energy so contemplate how you can think outside the box to achieve your goals in these life sectors.
