Interpsycle Observator: August 2025 – Preview of the Grand Sextile
With Uranus, Pluto, Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter now in their new signs, we’re seeing some interesting configurations forming in the skies which make for unprecedented times of social, political and personal change.
A rare Grand Sextile, or Start of David configuration is forming in the skies, and August sees an opportunity to experience this more intimately in our lives for the first time in our lives.
A rare star in the making
In 2025, Uranus, Pluto, Saturn and Neptune in their new signs will form the three points of a six pointed star in the zodiacal wheel. Later in 2026, Jupiter will join this group to make the fourth point of this star.
With four of the six points as the permanent backdrop in 2026, it’s then up to the faster moving planets to fill in the remaining points of this star to complete the magical Star of David configuration – a pattern that is extremely rare.
Star of David = 3 trines + 3 sextiles + 3 oppositions
The Star of David configuration is made up of three trines, sextile and oppositions, which on the whole are generally harmonious connections between planets. They represent the easy flow of energy between planets for good or for worse, thus can bring both challenges as well as opportunities.
Bill Tierney in his book, Dynamics of Aspect Analysis, writes that due to this combination of aspects, this Grand Sextile ‘stimulates an awareness that we need to give back out to the environment … if we are to use such a plentitude of opportunities in a balanced, constructive manner.”
He describes that Grand Sextiles have an “enormous overload of capacity which demands to be actively exploited.” Otherwise, this could result in a condition “much like the spoilage of ripened fruit.”
Impact of the Grand Sextile
As Tierny describes in his writings, when this star builds towards its full potential in 2026, it may stimulate the collective to act in ways that have greater social impact or simply contribute to something bigger than your immediate world.
On April 3, 1948, US President Harry Truman signed the Foreign Assistance Act, also known as the Marshall Plan, into law. This act provided financial and material aid to help rebuild Western European economies after World War II. This occurred during the time of a Grand Sextile and demonstrates the energy of this configuration.
Who will feel the Grand Trine most?
This six-pointed star will be activating half of the zodiac signs. All of the fire and air signs will be housing each of these star points and in particular, the area around 0° of air and fire signs. If you’ve got planets at these points, you’re one of many to have ripe fruit to distribute.
At this stage, you’re likely to be involved in making pivotal decisions about your current situation thanks to this unprecedented configuration.
On the one hand, it’s an opportunity to make changes that have been too difficult to make previously. Yet at the same time, you could be under a lot of pressure and confusion. Perhaps these changes might have something to do with stepping outside of your comfort zone to make a greater contribution in some way.
Since April 2025, you might have felt a restlessness around your creative contribution and this might continue to be a feature until November. However, any major decisions or actions around this might not come to fruition until the first half of 2026.
The August acceleration
Venus and Mars will join the other three points to make a complete five of the six points of this star in August.
Being the two relationship planets, Venus and Mars symbolise the ‘give and take’ dynamics of interpersonal connections and the balance between independence and co-dependency. When they connect in any way, Venus and Mars bring the theme of passion, desire and creation into one’s experience.
As Venus and Mars form the fourth and fifth points of this star this month, they will no doubt bring all of their creativity, passion and desires into your consideration, especially if you have planets around 0° of air and fire signs.
Amidst these great changes being engineered right now, contemplate how this might impact on your personal desires and the energy you have to expend on them. Have your needs changed? Do you seek new forms of connections? Do you find yourself re-evaluating your priorities?
The Mars point
The first week of August will see Mars entering Libra and igniting its need for autonomy, independence, power and resilience as you formulate your next big shift. This move might reveal either the control or lack of control you have right now, and highlight what you want to do about it.
There’s temptation to make bold moves, considering this is all happening around the impulsive Full Moon in Aquarius (9 Aug) – a sign that loves a bit of controversy. But, if you plan to make your move, be sure it’s part of the long term strategic plan, and not just a hasty indulgence. Mars is debilitated in Libra and might cause unfavourable side effects if instincts take over the rational mind.
Mercury also stations direct (11 Aug) around this time, providing added motivation to move forward with your plans. But just a tip – make sure you add a little extra buffer time into all of your plans as you’re likely going to require this down the track.
The Venus point
Later in the month, Venus enters Leo and forms the fifth point of the six-pointed star, just as the New Moon in Virgo (23 Aug) kicks off another lunar month. Venus in Leo might encourage you to prioritise your own needs and desires as you consider these big decisions. She reminds you that without any focus on your own welfare, health, vitality and general self acknowledgement, there’s not much of a future to shift into.
Does that mean we might see the inner princesses come out in all of us? Possibly. But beyond the veil of selfishness and self-indulgence, we can attune to the inner priestesses tending the flames of passion and inspiration that drives us forward with warmth and energy to do great things. It’s an important reminder to honour the light within you, without succumbing to your egoic drives.
Anticipating the star
When the six points are unified into the Grand Star next year, there’s hope that this could be the gift that humanity needs to activate a new phase in our existence. But for now, August is a month where we can get an intimate feel for what we might expect to contribute in a bigger way to what we’re experiencing now. More simply, the creative fruits within us that are ripe for the offering, no matter how big or small.
SNAPSHOT OF AUGUST 2025
Think long-range impact, not short-term satisfaction – the fruits ripen in 2026
Think of how you can purposefully give and contribute beyond your personal bubble
Planets around 0° of Fire and Air signs will be highly stimulated to dream / plan big
Add extra buffer time in any of your plans
Use the Jupiter Venus conjunction to unify, reconcile and gather with loved ones
Allow extra time for plans to unfold

If you find yourself in a transitional state of dynamic change where an objective perspective could be helpful, or if you’re simply a seeking purpose and authenticity, astrology could be an invaluable tool for you.
Thank you Shu. I have Venus at 0 Sag, the changes and shocks etc are there. Scorpio rising with Mars in Libra at 24 degrees. I hope this star thing will be also positive. Much needed 🙏
