  • 23 Oct   Sun enters Scorpio
  • 24 Oct   Third Quarter Moon in Leo
  • 25 Oct   Mars sextile Uranus

Last week, Mercury squared Pluto in Capricorn for the last time and entered Scorpio shortly after. This week, it’s the Sun’s turn to bid farewell to this version of Pluto (23 Oct). This could potentially bring to light important topics and issues that have been seething away in the background. Perhaps you could have been introduced to this last week when Mercury led into the Pluto square and Scorpio zone. But as the Sun traverses this region this week, there’s no denying the obvious details of the matter. Long standing issues that have been unresolved, possibly containing a degree to toxicity are things to be on the lookout for. It may hit you deeply into your shadow traits as you also encounter the shadows of others. Issues of power, control, ego and the fight for one’s individual agency may be prominent themes.

Time to bring structure, objectivity and a constructive way forward to manage these situations. Mercury’s trine with Saturn (22 Oct) will help you to establish structures that can address these issues, which may have been topical in the second half of 2023, for good. This is a good week to make use of a greater level of concentration, organised thoughts, long term strategies and a disciplined mind.

You may be required to turn your back and let go of things as you work towards final resolutions. The Third Quarter Moon in Leo (24 Oct) suggests that perhaps it’s your pride and ego that might require a shift in attitude in order to free yourself from continued suffering and move on. It could also provide motivation for the last push of effort to see matters to fruition. Supporting this is the fact that the Sun-Pluto square this week is also the last quarter square of the Pluto cycle, reinforcing the point that big issues from the past are surfacing for your final attention. Therefore, it might pay to visualise the kind of outcome you may want to achieve for the future, and work backwards to define the steps that need to be taken this week and the next.

Meanwhile, Mars who is travelling through the shadow zone of the upcoming retrograde cycle is working in the background, developing the plot for its forthcoming performance in December. This week, the plot develops with a Mars Uranus sextile (25 Oct). It could bring an interesting twist to the story that could be filled with innovation and ingenuity, not all of which may be welcomed though. However, its energy is not so much harmful as it could be illuminating as it might offer new alternatives that you might not have considered previously. Think back to the horrid week we had around 15 July when Mars Uranus and Algol came together to start a new cycle (think attempted assination of Trump, data breach of Windows operating systems). This week’s sextile of Mars and Uranus will be linked to that week. So, if you felt the enormity of that week at a personal level, you may feel a sense of progress from those issues as you move forward to the next adventure. And trust me, there’s plenty more adventures to be had in this action-packed part of the year!
