Besides the Sun and Moon, the next most visible planet in the sky is Venus.  Right now in September 2026, Venus will be the first planet that pops up in the sky, just as it’s starting to get dark. It will be the brightest, most obvious planet in the western sky.

Looking at stars often brings an incredible sense of awe, regardless of whether it has any meaning to you at all. But imagine if you  knew exactly what it meant and how you’re supposed to work with it.

More than the simple act of looking up at the sky, historical evidence points to the importance of understanding the movements of a star, the quality of time that coincides with its viewing and more importantly, the actions that need to be performed at the time of observation. Venus is one planet that we’re lucky to have important transmissions preserved about its mysteries, rites and timing.

Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth – Her Stories and Hymns From Sumer, is a pivotal work on the mysteries of Venus observation, showing evidence of cultural and civil rituals, ceremonies and actions undertaken in alighment with the Venus cycle, within a mytical container of this Sumerian love epic. The work is the result of cuneiform translator, Samual Noah Kramer, and folklorist, Diane Wolkstein, based on clay tablets dating back to 2000 B.C and excavations of Inanna’s city, Uruk (modern day Baghdad) dating between 3500-2900 B.C.

Despite the immense passage of time that has passed between then and now, what remains true and constant are the teachings coded into the light of Venus. And, through this two-part video series, I hope to illustrate just a small sliver of that light to you. It’s intention is to show you…

  • what 40-day action you can take to proactively engage in the unfolding of this cycle that’s perpetually in motion.
