All dates are stated in Universal Time (UT 0:00hrs). Please adjust for your timezone.

  • 22 Jul   Sun trine Neptune
  • 22 Jul   Mars trine Pluto
  • 22 Jul   Sun enters Leo
  • 23 Jul   Sun opposite Pluto
  • 25 Jul   Mercury enters Virgo
  • 26 Jul   Sun sextiles Mars
  • 28 Jul   Third Quarter Moon in Taurus

Following on the volatile Mars-Uranus-Algol stellium last week, the strong fire energy continues into this week. Mars will make contact with the Sun and Pluto this week, and although the heat will remain, it seems much more productive if the fire can be channelled in the right way.

Leo season starts at the beginning of this week with the Sun entering its own sign of Leo (22 Jul). There’s usually a sense of uplifting brightness and positivity when the Sun makes its annual return to his home. However, now that Pluto has entered Aquarius and staying in this zone for the next 20 years, every Leo season will be injected with the penetrating depth of Pluto at the opposition point every time the Sun enters its home sign. We may see the optimism of the Lion’s essence diminish as a result. Pluto’s intimidating gaze from afar might cause paranoia, insecurity and apprehension to enter into the Lion’s positive outlook. Even though the lion is the king of the jungle and the top of the food chain, with Pluto’s stare at the opposition, he could suddenly feel as though he is being watched. The predator meets a new, unknown rival.

Since Pluto entered Aquarius from March 2023, seismic shifts have been happening to humanity. The potential of artificial intelligence and other new technologies is what’s staring humanity down right now, and the annual Sun-Pluto opposition happening this week will be an obvious reminder to us all about a new ‘force majeure’ making its inevitable presence into the collective.

This year, Mars will join in on the Sun-Pluto opposition, as Mars lends a trine to Pluto (22 Jul) and a sextile to the Sun (26 Jul). The explosive tendency of Mars in this combination can indicate the obviousness of the whole situation. Pluto’s naturally insidious and stealthy ways will be encouragingly revealed by the honesty of Mars. The opposition aspect, which holds Pluto and the Sun, is also another symbol of disclosure and visibility. It could be glaringly obvious to you this week that the tension of holding major pressures under composure is not sustainable. Whatever you’re holding onto, for whatever reason, might need to be unveiled. This is especially so given the Third Quarter Moon’s phase in Taurus (28 Jul) approaching which will see a lot of mental and emotional processing churning through your system. Finding conscious ways to release the valve on any inner tensions, secrets, burdens and what not, could be a good use of this week’s planetary energies.

But you will need to put some thought into this. The impulsivity of fire and the instinctual nature of Pluto means that you could also explode your inner volcano if the pressure is too great. Luckily, Mercury’s entrance into its home sign of Virgo (25 Jul) will bring the gift of logic, rationality, speech and strategy. Mercury is at its greatest strength in Virgo which means it’s a great time to put your brain and mind power to good use. Any work involving precision, detail, technologies and any form of communication can embrace this week’s Mercury for greater impact. Just wait until Mercury enters Virgo which will be after 25 July.

Thank you Shu! The mundane astrology has been literal. I was very nervous but meditation helped a bit. We’ll see this week! Take care 🤗
