Regardless of whether you’re reaching the peak of the Sun’s light or the depths of the night’s shadows in this Solstice week, Neptune’s square to the Sun-Venus-Mercury trio in Gemini will make it a magical week. Neptune’s influence is non-linear and unconstrained by time or material affairs, which will allow you to tap out of life and into whatever worlds you wish to escape to. The peak Neptunian experience will fall between 17-20 June when their squares become exact. If you’ve got any unstructured creative projects to sink yourself into that require little rules or mental acuity, then this is the week to indulge into full imagination and playful abandon.

In practical life, this Neptunian transit could throw routines out of whack and bring more chaos into your life. Learning to embrace the dis-order that Neptune offers can help you to soften your rigid ways and appreciate the beauty within the imperfections of life. If you’re someone who likes structure and order or if you’re a perfectionist, this is an invitation to ease the pressure off yourself this week. Allow yourself to shift focus so that your attention can be turned towards the subtleties of the world around and within you.

Now that Venus has entered into her evening star phase, despite not yet visible in the sky yet, you might feel a sense of recovery approaching after a long phase of intense emotions, self realisations, financial stresses or relationship tension. If you’ve been feeling the pressure since April, this week might see the release valve loosen and you realise the necessity of whatever challenges you might have experienced since then. The Neptune square to the Sun-Venus-Mercury trio will help you to ease out of the heaviness of this Venus underworld phase and escape to more joyful places. However it’s a well known fact that Neptune likes to over indulge in escapism and raises addictive tendencies so be mindful to plan your escape in productive and healthy ways.

Some healthy ways to express the planetary arrangements this week is to tap into the playfulness and artistic flair of the Mercury Venus Conjunction (17 Jun) while deepening your expression and connection by accessing other worlds through the portals of Neptune as it squares both Mercury and Venus on the same day. Meditative and mindful practices can be heightened under this aspect.

The Sun-Venus-Mercury trio will also shift from Gemini to Cancer territory marking an important transition point. The Sun’s annual transition over this cusp signifies the Solstice where the Sun’s light peaks or troughs depending on which hemisphere you live in. Energetically, the shift from a logical air sign to a compassionate water sign can also encourage you to place matters of the heart over the rationality of the brain. You may favour your non-rational, emotive urges over that would not normally make any logical sense. A good week to put self care into action to nourish yourself so that you can in turn nurture others. Nothing more reminds me of Cancer season than a wholesome soup shared with family and friends with some winter greens from the garden thrown in. How do all you northern hemisphere folks embody the Cancer season and Summer Solstice?
