We’re wrapping up the final pieces of the Venus Retrograde story this week, with the last of three squares of Venus to Uranus (29 Sep) unfolding. Now that Venus is getting back into the zone from which it stationed retrograde back on 23 July, it can give you a clearer sense of what the dramas of the past couple of months may have been about. It’s as if you’re edging back to square one, finally realising that the task was to initiate something of value within yourself that you can nurture and grow over the next eight years. What was this concept of value that you reset for yourself? Was it something tangible and external like an important item or acquisition that took place over this time? Maybe it was a new creative passion that emerged into being? Or perhaps something more intrinsic like a reframing of your self-esteem / principles within important relationship dynamics?

The signature of Uranus tied into the Venus Retrograde story is one of surprise twists and turns, extending you to grow into newer dimensions beyond your known reality. It could have felt extremely unearthing, electrifying, exciting, nerve-wracking and anxious as experiences pushed you to develop new ways of behaving and reacting. Depending on the Taurus and Leo houses in your chart and what they represent, this Venu- Uranus story could have delivered the qualities of defectors, rebels, dissidents and disruptors to agitate a calm situation in which to grow to new personal heights. Perhaps these qualities were invoked within yourself as you found yourself agitating situations around you.  Looking back, the Venus-Uranus story could have taught you a completely new skill in the way you respond to situations which you will be thankful for once you can overcome the shock and drama of this transit. Venus-Uranus can be the great reframer, especially when it comes to your personal relationships, self esteem, value and your desires. It could have been the electric shock you needed to snap you out of a stagnant pattern of being and relating.

At the same time, Mercury chimes in on this story, delivering the news, insights and reflections on the past couple of months. Mercury makes the third and final trine to Jupiter (25 Sep), completing a story that initiated on 10 August during the Venus Retrograde. While there’s a connection to the Venus Retrograde phase, this Mercury Jupiter trine story may have also been playing out on a separate level of experience. Looking back, you may have noticed an urge to want to study, teach, learn, inquire, write or delve into the world of ideas, philosophies and abstract notions. This may or may not be related to the drama of the Venus Retrograde story, however, Mercury-Jupiter will have been a constructive distraction or by-product of the whole situation. Think about what big ideas may have emerged for you during the first two iterations of this transit – something that initiated on 10 August which may have re-emerged during 4 September. With the final thread passing this week, you may like to reflect on what learnings you can draw from these past weeks, especially in terms of how you may like to prioritise important practices, focus areas and ideas moving forward. 

With its light hearted nature, the Mercury journey with Jupiter reinforces the theme of learning that’s been occurring alongside the heavier drama of the Venus Retrograde period. It’s been acting from a strong position in its sign of Virgo to distil new information and teachings that might help towards your growth journey. Mercury’s trine to Uranus (30 Sep) also points to the idea that a final piece of information or news could be received around the Venus-Uranus transit story – perhaps some last minute insights or revelations that might bring together the meaning of the shocking resetting that’s finalising this week.  But in a more immediate sense, a trine of Mercury to Uranus could be particularly beneficial for technological tasks. You may like to use this day to battle out any tech issues or re-organise your systems, refresh your processes and reset your strategies and mindset.
