Recall the Venus Cazimi or the Venus new cycle that commenced on 13 August. We are now closing in on the first month of this new cycle and the way you can tell that the month is about to conclude is that you’ll see the Waning Crescent Moon and Venus come together (11 Sep) in the morning skies in the east. This will happen nine times over nine months in the eastern morning sky – symbolising Venus’ and the Moon’s quality of fertility in the human gestation period. The Waning Crescent Moon here represents the removal of Inanna’s first item of adornment as she makes her way through the first of seven gates on her treacherous descent into the Underworld. This first gate symbolises the crown chakra as Inanna removes her crown and releases all the egoic traits associated with being Queen.

If you’re one to be up for your morning walk or commute into work in the early mornings, no doubt you’ll see this beautiful arrangement of the Waning Crescent Moon with Venus close by – it’s hard to miss. This iconography can be seen in several flags, such as the national flags of Turkiye, Tunisia, Pakistan and Mauritania, as it’s the symbol of Islam with its roots from the Byzantine, Ottoman and Sasanian Empires. These cultures recognised the importance of the Venus cycle for the agricultural, economic and social management of their countries and it was this crescent and five-pointed star symbol they saw every month in the sky that reminded them of what they initiated at the Venus Cazimi.

Therefore, this month as you observe the Venus Moon conjunction, be sure to reflect back to what you intended during the new Venus Cycle on 13 August. It will also be a reminder of the developments initiated in the house of Leo where the Cazimi happened, so reflect on the events and themes of this area of life. This is the first development and milestone in this 18 month journey ahead. It may require you to remove your ego from a situation that might be preventing these intentions from proceeding forth. You may like to head out for an intentional meditation under their lights to help you do this.

And every month, as you see this symbol in the sky, you’ll know that the New Moon is about to occur within a few days. On this occasion we will see a New Moon in Virgo (15 Sep) which will turn over a new leaf. There’s a feeling of a definite chapter ending with this one in my opinion. It’s as if we are closing off on the Venus Retrograde activities as we resolve the Venus Jupiter Square issue which commenced 12 June as this week Venus squares Jupiter (17 Sep) for the last time this year. This may end a little story of desires, consumption, longing, connection and growth that has occurred during this time.

This is also the last lunation cycle before we head into the eclipse lunation next month. As I had mentioned in my interview on Dig It Gardening Show on Main FM last week, this is the lunation to get all of your planting done before the eclipses and nodes come into play and potentially corrupt your growth. For us downunder, we’re busily getting all of our spring seedlings in the ground, but those in the northern hemisphere could be getting your winter greens in now too.

As the New Moon happens, the Sun will also trine Uranus (16 Sep) giving us a feeling of a reset and reinvigoration, along with Mercury Stationing Direct (15 Sep) which will help push things forward in a more direct and easy way.

Great update and thanks for the link to the gardening show! It was beneficial. I want to grow sunflowers this year after participating in mass sunflower plantings in the past. Just on a small scale this year.

I found the bit about Saturn & the moon quite interesting.

I love your Women’s Land Army & Guilford Gardening Girls.
    What a fantastic community!

Ah, thanks for listening. It’s always great fun to be talking to other gardeners. I love sunnies too – so spectacular – would love to see yours in bloom when they are ready. Happy planting!
