The Third Quarter Moon in Virgo (16 Dec) calls us to pause and process some inner contemplations this week. It seems that there’s a theme of finality in the skies this week, and not just because we’re heading into the end of this year.

Jupiter is spending its last few days in Pisces and won’t return to this place again until 2033-2034. You may like to contemplate what the Jupiter in Pisces effect was for you in this decade, which commenced on 30 Dec 2021. Whichever house Jupiter travels through for that approximately 12 month period will go through some kind of expansion and growth. Where is your Pisces house? How has Jupiter’s effect played out on the activities of that house for you?

Depending on which house Jupiter is traveling in, the nature of expansion and growth can differ…

  • Angular houses (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) could show obvious tangible advancements in life
  • Succedent houses (2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th) could see Jupiter helping you in the background to establish some longer term goals or ideas.
  • Cadent houses (3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th) could possibly show opportunities for inner growth and mindset shifts.

Generally, Jupiter’s nature can be strong in Pisces so you may have experienced the BIG-ness of that planet in this area of life regardless of whether it’s Angular, Succedent or Cadent. Big emotions, big plans, big successes, big opportunities and big challenges as well. Over the past year, the peak periods for the grand visions of Jupiter in Pisces were 1) January to May and 2) November to now. You may have started with an idea in the first window, which may be coming into greater consolidation right now. Make the most of these last days of expansionary wisdom working on this area of life because it will be another 12 years before it gets this kind of attention again.

So as we close this 12 year chapter of Jupiter, why not make time to reflect on what your big ideas and visions have been in the past year. How have you been moved by the wave of Jupiter in Pisces? What’s washed up for you? What’s dissolved away? When Jupiter moves into Aries for good in late December, these visions and ideas will be given fuel to manifest into your reality, so be conscious of what you’re envisioning. Make this the time to summarise and clarify your vision.

The Moon Saturn trine (18 Dec) adds to the theme of finality, as if you’re ready to check out for the year. Even though it’s hard to believe where the year has gone, this aspect tells us that it’s really time to finish things up for the year. You may feel an urge to withdraw from whatever it is you’re doing, or perhaps feel mentally prepared to quit while you’re ahead. Use this transit to help you tie up any unfinished business this week. You may want to take some time out this week to focus on consolidating your tasks.

Mercury trine Uranus (18 Dec) on the same day could bring some unexpected news, logistical disruptions and sudden ideas that could raise some excitement and energy. This aspect can bring events that could delight or destroy your mood depending on whether you’re the kind of person that likes surprises or not. It’s also a great way to stretch your mind to new possibilities, inventions or ideas that could strike like a bolt of lightning at any time. If you’re looking for a mental reset, this is the aspect will help you to shock the old, rigid ways of thinking out of your system. It could also put you on a thinner edge, but perhaps you like the thrill of it. If a technical issue has been challenging you lately, this aspect could see a sudden resolution fall into your hands,

So as we draw towards the end of this quarter towards the Solstice, your focus and attention would benefit from being directed at closure, consolidation and contemplation this week.
