Now in the midst of Scorpio Eclipse season, the underworld themes continue to settle into our consciousness, or rather, we are starting to acclimatise to the intensity and pressure of this realm. Astrologically, significant events have dropped in the past two weeks (Venus Superior Conjunction, Mars Retrograde, Scorpio Solar Eclipse), creating much tension, internal angst and instability. The drain of this may be starting to wear you down especially if you find yourself trying to resolve complex situations that involve people close to you, finances, resources and creative challenges. With Mars having recently stationed retrograde and ruling last week’s eclipse, the risk of an amygdala hijack is high and you could be prone to a fight or flight response.
There’s never been a better time to lean into a spiritual practice, as Ketu / South Node’s presence is being activated in this waxing half of the lunation. Ketu’s need to escape the world of matter can work powerfully to dissolve mundane situations that are occupying too much of your space and preventing you from a spiritual path. Doing nothing may seem unproductive, but right now, it will be an effective use of time. I’m reminded of the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and his mindful breathing talks and meditations. These teachings are so simple, they almost seem too good to be true. But isn’t it great that the solution could actually be this simple, especially when everything feels impossibly complex?
Do you get the sense that there are some very important foundational topics being reorganised right now? Serious grown-up stuff like situations you feared having to face or decisions that might have impactful consequences. The theme that’s being valued this week is your personal freedom. Venus opposes Uranus (3 November) is the only major aspect this week. So in the midst of the underworld journey, there could be a strong priority on integrating freedom into your current life structures. You may feel a bit restless in your current life and seek change, excitement, authenticity and greater alignment.
Venus opposing Uranus could also bring opportunities to invite some liberating perspectives as you navigate through setting up your long term foundational structure. You could be feeling the push towards unexpected or out-of-character actions that could lead to new options opening up for you. A creative spark that’s been missing for a few weeks could return, bringing fresh ideas and solutions to your big life questions and projects.
A tired relationship or rigid stalemate could also be refreshed or reinvigorated. The spontaneity and lightheartedness of this aspect could see some important shifts within partnerships that have the potential to breakthrough some crystalised bonds. There may also be feelings of aloofness experienced within partnerships but on the flipside, you may be content with the independence and freedom of being alone. Surprises and pregnancies have also been observed with this transit though Venus’ debilitated condition may lower the chances of fertility.
Use the Venus Uranus opposition to confront your needs for freedom, independence and liberation within your relationships, finances or resources with greater objectivity. You could potentially aim for a bit of a reset and or create new pathways and perspectives that can help you progress. This week could see events unfold that could be related to events from around 12 June 2022 when the Venus Uranus cycle commenced. There could be some surprising elements coming into play this week so be open to them.
Final note: This week’s quote is taken from my friend, Lisa Solari’s wonderful presentation that she gave at AstroMagia called Releasing the Dragons, Tending the Vessel which is about her ideas around spirit contact, possession and the lingering physical side effects of the “spirit hangover” from the framework of the classical Chinese Medicine concept of Gu Syndrome (gu zheng). Lisa is a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practioner, Astrologer, Somatic therapist and Magical Practitioner – what an amazing set of skills! Go and check out her work at: www.lisasolari.com
