This week, we see Venus’ condition being more challenged as it enters into the sign of Aries, a place of her exile. When Venus is in a difficult territory, we usually experience the level of ease and grace decline from an everyday perspective. Things feel like a battle, you may experience more conflict, there’s less willingness to be social and less likelihood of negotiation and consideration of others. It’s generally a time you would be better being autonomous rather than risk getting involved in arguments and disagreements.
From the perspective of Venus as the ruler of the recent eclipse, you may notice that your ideas for liberating changes in your life could seem more difficult than initially anticipated. Any sense of positivity, optimism or excitement you could have felt last week may now appear to be the beginnings of growing pains or challenges for your personal development. The real work of change starts this week even if you had set your intentions for it last week. Embrace the challenges that can lead to your personal freedom, and let go of the rest.
There are several supportive aspects from mid to late this week, especially useful if you need that extra push to break any old patterns, shake up your routine or invite in some fresh changes into your life.
The Sun’s approaching conjunction with Uranus is the strongest transit of the week. As the Sun passes the light of Uranus on 5 May, the urge to break free of any oppressive binds will be strong. If you’ve had rumblings of discontent in any area of life, especially connected to any issues raised during the eclipse last week, this transit could be the final straw that inspires you towards a radical approach that can break you through the structures that contain that situation. Sun-Uranus calls for a new way forward, and if you’re fixated on an approach that’s proving to be stagnant, you’ll most likely notice sudden, unpredictable events or behaviours happening around you, forcing you to take notice. Be inspired to look at new approaches to old problems, despite how radical or impractical they may seem.
Meanwhile, Mars will be sextiling this Sun-Uranus conjunction, lending you courage and motivation to initiate a breakthrough. Due to the softer aspect of this sextile involved, the ‘fire‘ of this configuration is likely to be a productive kind of heat that can be used to create constructive solutions, rather than being violently volatile and destructive. This would be a constructive time to put your rebellious urges into an important purpose, as long as you have given this great consideration. If you’re finding that you need to fight for your own freedom, liberation or sovereignty and haven’t had the courage to speak up, this week could help you become more assertive about your rights. It will allow you to lay out your opinions that could begin the process of change, freedom and greater equilibrium. Combined with Venus in Aries sentiments, this aspect may also give you the courage to make that unpopular decision or to call out that ‘white elephant in the room‘. Popularity and social graces are not the priority here. What’s more important is the act of cutting through the murkiness in an honest and frank way which can initiate the process for creating more autonomy and sovereignty for all involved.
Mercury will also sextile Venus which adds some ingenuity, creativity and playfulness to the mix. This aspect may help to ease out social intensities a little, helping all parties to get over it and move on. Ruling the winds, Mercury can help to disperse any tensions in the air and bring the gift of rational, objective thought especially while it’s strongly placed in its own sign of Gemini. In fact, one silver lining this week is that whatever issue comes up will likely be overcome swiftly. The activated signs – Gemini, Aries, Pisces – have an objective, dispersing and dissolving nature to them.
The week ends with the First Quarter Moon in Leo – a significant lunation phase because it is the first sensitive point in the current eclipse cycle. The core essence of your own internal flame, that which is the generating force from which all of your life choices and actions are inspired from, is coming into focus. Your identity, sense of self and your greater purpose relies on this flame to be strong and vital. Building adequate resources to keep this flame constant will be the focus. So as you look up to the First Quarter Moon this week, may you build some structures to help you tend to your flame in the midst of these changing winds.
